From the hospital of Koridallos’s prisoners

From the hospital of Koridallos’s prisoners
Letter of thanks from the hospital Koridallos prisoners
“All the poor prisoners of A’ Wing Koridallos’ prisons, we thank from the depths of our soul the father Gervasios who is standing by us and is giving us liberally his love. Almost we would want to express our gratitude for the charitable act that father Gervasios offers us, reminding us that he always is near us. This, we are inspecting from you it is not only the material goods, it is the love, the hope and the assistance to difficult moments, we are pasting through. We thank very much and we will always wish the best for you…”
***
The prisoners of B’ Wing are dealing with particular problems mainly from the use of toxic essences. Very often the use drive us to deaden our feelings, do not be in touch with them. As a result we are destroying valuable relationships like the relationships with our families and our beloved near persons. In jail’s area with clear brain and net feeling, we are realizing how destructively and unfriendly we had behaved to ourselves and to our family…
***
The hope, the politeness and the assistance which comes from you untiringly so with your moral assistance as so with your actual offer are valuable for our psychical situation and they are giving us the strength to deal with the prison’s conditions. We are grateful to you and we have the absolute need to stand always by us.
From the prisoners of the C’ Wing, we had accepted the clothes and the shoes, that you had offered, we would want to thank you, from the depth of heart for your offer. We had taken so much joy for the new things that we had got. Mainly, almost we had glad, for feeling, that your thought is always to us and to our needs… A few days ago, we took the shoes and some sorts of clothing, you had sent to us. We thank you, you are thinking of us and you care for us, we are in jail.
We, the poor prisoners of D’ Wing, we have got no one our person, which interest in us, we have no money for buying whatever we need, we are feeling like our father, who is helping us in this difficult situation, we are. Thanking you is not enough to describe our joy and the relief, we are feeling not only for your presents, which you are sending to us, but and for your thought, that keeps company to us.
“We, the poor prisoners of E’ Wing we would want to thank you deeply for the shoes and the sorts of clothing, we sent to us.
The words cannot describe the feelings of gratitude and love, we are feeling for you. We would want to know that for us, we have got neither our people, nor money to cover our basic needs your offer and assistance are touching us specifically and are keeping company to us, in the every day’s difficulties”.

PRISONERS' LETTERS

  Korydallos Juridical Prison, 1993

Dear Sirs. I do not think that merely by thanking you I will pay back what you have done for me. It's not just that you helped me hasten my release; through this gesture you made me see many things. Most importantly, you showed me that, even at the present times, there is love.
I repeat, it's not the money. It's the fact that you cared for a person you don't even know.
It's not my tongue that is speaking to you at this moment, it is my soul and I want you to believe that, because I am an honest and true man.
I would like to tell you how your act made me feel. I felt like a little sparrow blown away by the harsh wind and hit by the rain, without any place to go to and without anyone to keep it warm with his love. You mentally took me in your lap and you held me so warmly that my pain disappeared. Your words became a caress in my heart and, in my untold loneliness, I felt your love.
The little sparrow found an invisible hand. It felt that this hand was love. Now it is no longer afraid, because the love you gave it proved that there is still humanity and love. And you gave it strength so that it could fly again, released from all fears. You have the power to hear it sing softly. And hear in its song how much it loves you and the whole world.
Through your love you have illuminated the dark alleys of its soul. It will never forget you. It will always keep you in its heart.
Thank you from the depths of my soul.
  I will never forget you.
  Love
  G.Κ.

  Your Reverence Father Gervasios,
Through this letter I wish to express in writing my warmest thanks and my gratitude for the help you have offered me, by providing the remaining amount necessary for my release. To a great extend, I owe my freedom and the fact that I can be with my family again to your contribution and love.
I would like to thank God first and foremost, for he has found people who helped me and he is giving me power so that, despite my health and age problems, I can still work to pay out my debts and earn a living for my family.
  May I have your blessing.
May God bless your life and works.
  With deep respect
  H.P.
PS. My particular thanks are due to your associates.

  "Dear brothers in Christ,
May the Almighty God always offer you the best. We have received the money you so kindly sent us, and we paid my son's debt, because he was in danger of going to prison. It was a huge relief for us, because we have many children and we could not possibly find so much money. Indeed, once again we have seen God's grace and love in our home. We would like to thank Lord Almighty from the depths of our heart for enlightening his pure creatures so that they helped us.
Our warmest thanks also go to you, who with your love, your kindness and your sacrifice, help your fellow beings who are in need and relieve their suffering. My whole family is grateful and prays to God for you.
I, his mother, would like to thank you from the depths of my heart and pray that God may offer you everything you have asked for. Health and happiness to you and your families.
  Thank you very much."

"Father Gervasios, thank you very much for the 50,000 Drs. you have sent me, following the social worker's letter, so that I could be released. Even though I am a Muslim in religion, I am Greek in my soul and heart. I would like to thank you because I was released thanks to your help. In Xanthi, where I am going now, I will always think of you and be grateful.
May God keep you well so that you can always help poor prisoners".
  With respect

  Dear Sirs,
It's a great pleasure to thank you from the depths of my heart for the letter full of compassion you have sent me in prison. Your teaching healed my heart. Actually, the way I approached God through this letter will never be properly expressed, because you have discarded and thrown to the sea the entire racism problem, and it is unbelievable that you helped me financially by paying for my release. That truly touched my heart, and I pray that God Almighty, who is urging you to such heart-opening deeds, may guide you throughout you life.
I feel ashamed to say that I still have a long way to go before I achieve my evangelical transformation in God. For this reason, I would consider it a great benefit if you could send me to the following address some material that would help me change, for example the Holy Bible and books that could bring me closer to God. May God always bless you.

  Alexandroupoli, 21-1-1999

  Dear brothers in Christ,
May you always have the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ.
We received your letter and the periodical for the prisoners, and we would like to thank you for caring for our imprisoned brothers.
As I have also served 7 years in prison, I know very well the suffering of the prisoner who feels abandoned by all except God and his children.
Christ, the Virgin Mother, Saint Xeni, and all the Saints may give you power to perform your charitable and pious work with pleasure.
  All the best
  In the love of Christ
  Ε.Κ.Β.
